This paper proposes a novel particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique to generate an instantaneous two-dimensional velocity field for sediment-laden fluid based on the optical flow algorithm of ultrasound imaging. In this paper, ultrasonic PIV (UIV) system is constructed by integrating medical instrument and algorithm. The with phased sensor array used acquire acoustic echo signals particles in water underwater images. Based field, corresponding pixels images derived from grayscale change between adjacent under L-K local constraint finally, obtained.
